Another dentist told me I am not a candidate. Is that the end of it?
Not necessarily. Full-arch implants are placed at angles specifically to use the bone you still have, and many people told no for conventional implants turn out to be candidates. Bone does not wait, though: once teeth are gone, it shrinks fastest in the first year. That is why the scan is worth doing now, and it is free.
Will it hurt?
No. You are sedated the whole time and you feel no pain during the procedure. Most patients remember very little of it. The days after feel like soreness and pressure, not sharp pain, and medication keeps it managed. Am I too old for this?
Almost certainly not. Most of our full-arch patients are between 55 and 75. Age is rarely the deciding factor, bone is, and the scan answers that in twenty minutes.
